Ningbo University:
It is one of the key institutions of higher learning of Zhejiang Province with a wide range of disciplines: economics, law, education, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine and management. The University is located in the historical and cultural city of Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, bordering on the East China Sea. Ningbo has long been acclaimed as a thriving commercial port and a shining pearl near the East Sea, and it has gradually grown to be a major city in the Southern part of the Yangtze Delta and a key trading port in the East China. The University has five campuses, covering an area of over 160 hectares, with a floor space totaling 560,000 square meters. It has 2 provincial key laboratories, 12 municipal key laboratories, and 77 institutes. Ningbo University maintains close links and intercollegiate cooperation with 47 well-known institutions of higher learning in Canada, Germany, France, Britain, USA, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Australia.
A Brief Profile of Ningbo University School of Medicine
Ningbo University School of Medicine was founded in 1998 under the donation of Dr. Yuhan Tang from Hongkong, who is also Honorary Dean of the school. The school has 5 departments, 3 research centers. Its full-time undergraduate students have reached 1100, including 220 postgraduates. The school runs bachelor degree programs, diploma degree program, 3 master degree programs and 5 programs of adult education & distance learning for the national students, as well as 1 six-year bachelor degree on Clinical Medicine program (MBBS) for international students. In 2011, Ministry of Education permitted university to enroll international students to study MBBS program in English medium. Now there are international students from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Pakistan and other countries. The school has 8 affiliated hospitals, 8 teaching hospitals, 7 teaching & practice bases of GP and 3 teaching & practice of Preventive Medicine.
MBBS PROGRAM
(Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery)
A. MBBS program with the course duration of 6 years including one year compulsory internship. The program will be conducted in six months semester basis. Therefore the total academic semesters will be ten excluding internship.
B. No direct admission. Students can contact our admission centers and liaison persons for enrollment on behalf of NBU.
Eligibility criteria & enrollment process:
★ Candidates should be between 18 and 35 years old and in good health and hold the foreign valid ordinary passport.
★Student should have passed intermediate level or 10+2, O-Level, F.Sc. or A-Level through science stream with biology/pre-medical subjects,high school diploma or Medical Undergraduate Diploma
★ Abide by laws and regulations of People's Republic of China.
★ Copy of valid foreign passport.
Facilities:
Library:The University library uses a computerized network management system.
Books: All British/American standard textbooks, which prescribed in British/American/ Indian/ Nepalese/ Pakistani medical colleges. Special format for MCI /NMC/PMDC/USMLE/PLAB etc.
Class Room: Multi-media class room for both theory and practical classes.
Hostel: Foreign hostel facility with international standards. Each twin sharing room is equipped with study table, chair, bed, AC, Phone, 24 hr internet line, Hot/Cold water in attached bathroom, Washing machine, etc.
Cafeteria: Students are free to choose their own cuisine in every meal from a large variety of offerings.
Procedures of Visa to China:
International Students Admission Center will mail Admission letter and “Visa Application for Study in China” (JW202 Form) to applicants. The applicants must take a physical examination no more than 4 months in advance at the hospital designated by the Chinese Embassy. With the Admission Letter, JW202 Form and Physical Examination Record, applicant s can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate for visa application (X Visa).
