Weifang Medical University (WMU), founded in 1951, is a public medical university owned by Shandong Province. It is located in Weifang - Kite Capital of the world and a beautiful city with temperate monsoon semi-humid climate. WMU covers an area of 540, 000 square meters with 300, 000 square meters of buildings. Now the University has a staff of 1, 300 members and about a total of 10, 000 students with 17 different majors and 27 different master degree programs.
University has 8 provincial research institutes, 2 provincial key subjects, 2 provincial key laboratories and 2 provincial medical key subjects. The University publishes the Journal ofWeifang Medical University and the Weifang Medical University periodical newspaper. Since 1978, the University has been granted 25 state scientific research projects, 86 provincial projects, 262 provincial bureau ones and 57 municipal ones. Many of them brought out social and economic benefits after being put into use.
WMU has actively conducted international exchanges and co-operations. Scholars from America, Japan, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Australia and Israel have come to visit our university and participated in academic exchanges. Every year the university invites foreign experts to come and teach or take part in the clinical activities, and now we have established the extensive relationships with many universities, both domestic and abroad.
It began to recruit medical international students since 2003. Till now, it has enrolled more than 600 students and among them 218 had got MBBS degree by 2011. In 2010, the university was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry Of Education to offer MBBS program in English.
Facilities:
Library:The library has a collection of over 600,000 books and 2,000 kinds of magazines, both in Chinese and foreign languages. For the purpose of teaching and practicing
Books: All British/American standard textbooks, which prescribed in British/American/ Indian/ Nepalese/ Pakistani medical colleges. Special formats for MCI /NMC/BMDC/PMDC/USMLE/PLAB etc.
Class Room: Multi-media class room for both theory and practical classes.
Hospitals: University has 6 general affiliated hospitals and many teaching hospitals with 16, 000 beds.
Accommodation: Foreign hostel facility with international standards. Each twin sharing room is equipped with study table, chair, bed, Phone, internet line, Hot/Cold water in attached bathroom, Kitchen, etc.
Cafeteria: Different type’s food in a specially prepared canteen for foreign students with subsidized cost. Students are free to choose their own cuisine in every meal from a large variety of offerings.

MBBS PROGRAM (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery)
A. MBBS program with the course duration of 6 years: 5 years of course study and 1 year of internship. The program will be conducted in six months semester basis.
B. Admission. Students can contact our admission centers and liaison persons for enrollment on behalf of WMU.
